Today we had a wonderful Sunday morning, waking up Daddy and all going to church together. Josh usually has to be at church early to do worship practice so we really enjoy the times that he gets to stay home and have a slow morning!! We all hung out and ate breakfast and watched the wild turkeys, went to church and then came back home and had a picnic on the front yard. Josh had to work, so we decided that the kids and I would head down to Elk Grove to spend some time with Grammy! We had a great day in the playing, swimming in the spa "pool," and eating snacks and Tri-Tip. Grammy had a new swim suit for Anna, so we had to get some pictures of that, as well as her chubby thighs that we just love so much! We love you Grammy!!
I just thought that Anna looked so pretty and cute in her new fish outfit that I had to get some pictures! Notice the headband and shoes!!!
When Jonah was a little younger we thought that he might want to start using the potty early, so we had him sit on the toilet and he actually went a couple times, and then he lost interest.... so we let it go.
Now that he has turned 3 we have decided to bring it up again. Ever since Anna came along he has had a new appreciation for his diaper and less fascination with going potty on the toilet. I figured this was normal, but decided that I would keep asking him if he wanted to start using a big boy toilet.
The day after Aaron was up all night with the flu, Jonah decides that he wants to go to Target to get his toilet, so we do... and, Jonah picked out some cool under ware that he was totally excited about!! When we got home and I explained to him that he gets 1 M&M for going pee pee and 2 M&M's for going poo poo. He thought that was pretty cool, so we got out the under ware and the toilet and the apple juice and waited for the pee to come! The pee did come and Jonah got his M&M a couple times!
I took some great photos of Jonah on his new toilet waiting for the pee reading his book, watching TV and drinking his drinks, but I didn't think they were appropriate for the public viewing. Aaron was really excited for him too and was really good at encouraging him. I explained to Aaron and Jonah, that Jonah usually goes poo in the morning, so he should get his 2 M&M's then!!
The next morning came, and we were all very excited about Jonah's new process. That excitement almost lost its momentum when he sat down on his toilet and had diarrhea. The momentum was definitely lost when he had diarrhea the second time but not on his toilet! I felt so bad for Jonah, but knew this was not a good time for him to be learning a new trick, so we put it all on hold until things could be a little more under control.
Go Jonah!! Can't Wait for you to use the Big Boy Toilet!!!
Today Anna sat up all by herself! (For more than just a couple seconds!!) So fun to see her sitting there. She looks so big sitting and playing with her toys. The boys thought it was so cool :)
2 days after Jonah's birthday Jonah got the flu :(
He woke up early Monday morning complaining of his tummy hurting, and after about two hours of crying he threw up his In-and-Out all over our bed - chunks of lettuce everywhere (he likes his hamburger protein style)!!! Josh spent the rest of the morning in Jonah's bed with him. This morning he was very tired, he took a bath with his new birthday bath toys and then back to the couch, just wanted to watch his "dinosaur movie" in his jammies and new birthday baseball hat - I thought he was watching his movie, but when I got a closer look, he was asleep. (I couldn't find my camera, so I had to use my phone)
Grandpa was coming to sing in Fair Oaks with the Quartet, so we all packed up in the car to go see him. The boys have really been missing him, so it was a special treat to get to see him for a moment. Troy and Melissa were out of town for their anniversary, so we got to bring Nathan with us.
We ended the evening with a sleep over! The boys were so excited!! (Unfortunately Jonah was up from about 2am on sick and throwing up) :(
